What We Do
Annually, the Kiwanis Club of East Fresno actively participates in various fundraising and service projects.
Here are some of the things we do in the Fresno community.
Projects
The Kiwanis Club of East Fresno is involved in many community events and partners with several organizations to make Fresno a great place to live.
Art of Life Healing Garden
The Kiwanis Club of East Fresno has Partnered with the Art of Life Cancer Foundation to build Playscapes for children and areas for reflection and healing in the Garden in Woodward Park
Fresno Storyland
Kiwanis is dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
At Storyland, fairytales come to life .
Our club partners with Storyland providing books and maintenance for this wonderful Fresno Attraction.
Fresno Chaffee Zoo
The Fresno Chaffee Zoo has one of the finest venue for children to learn and care for animals and the environment.
Our club has partnered with the zoo to build structures and create new areas to enjoy.
Junior Livestock Auction
The Kiwanis Club of East Fresno and it's Foundation annually help the area FFA and 4-H programs by assisting students get involved in the Ag business. This is done by helping kids purchase animals to raise and by purchasing their animals at the Big Fresno Fair.During the Junior Livestock Auction the Kiwanis Club of East Fresno and our SLP's help set up and run the auction by herding the kids and their livestock into the pens for auction.
Back to School Shopping Spree
“Kids need Kiwanis, in our community and in communities around the world. Our club believes in children and wants to provide all kids with an opportunity to thrive, prosper and grow.
The annual EFK Shopping Spree provides deserving kids the opportunity to have some warm back to school clothes.
Together with our partners in the community and Fresno Unified School District, our East Fresno Kiwanis Foundation is able to identify kids who need some assistance with their back to school and cold weather clothing needs.

Fresno Youth Orchestra
The Youth Orchestras have been a Fresno institution since 1950, when an all-city string ensemble of young musicians was formed. In 1953 winds and percussion were added and the group became the Kiwanis Youth Orchestra.
We annually provide scholarships for kids who would like to be a part of the orchestra but are not able to do so financially.

Two Cities Marathon
Our club braves the cold to set up a water station along the race course.
Member's of the club and our SLP Clubs man the station throughout the race handing out water and gatorade to all the runners.
We also add inspirational cheers to the runners as they make their way along the race.
Kiwanis One Day
Kiwanis One Day is a day when all Kiwanis Clubs around the world perform a service project in their own communities, resulting in an international spirit of service.
This year members of the Kiwanis Club of East Fresno and young members from Circle K Club, Key Clubs,

K-Kids and Aktion Clubs, and other community volunteers will spend the morning working together.

Special Olympics
The Kiwanis Club of East Fresno and it's famous Cooking Crew put together lunches for the athletes at they vie for excellence in their fields of endeavor.
Junior Company Players
The Junior Company usually numbers 18-20 young people, aged 8 to 16 years. Good Company Players looks for a balance of ages, sizes, genders and ethnicities, as well as talent. Formal voice and dance training is not a pre-requisite for acceptance into the Junior Company. Other attributes sought in Junior Company members: potential, motivation, maturity, courtesy and commitment.

Meritorious Service Awards
One avenue for contributing to the East Fresno Kiwanis Foundation is through the Medallion for Meritorious Service Program. Any person may nominate a person or organization for the East Fresno Kiwanis Foundation Medallion for Meritorious Service The honoree will receive a numbered plaque signifying their contribution to the East Fresno Kiwanis.
EFK Members will also receive a beautiful East Fresno Kiwanis Foundation for Meritorious Service Medallion, a matching lapel pin signifying their contribution to the East Fresno Kiwanis Foundation and recognizing the individual’s contribution to family, religious life, community or nation. In addition, the individual’s name will be placed on the Foundation’s Perpetual Honor Roll for their wonderful contribution.
Exceptional Parents Unlimited
Exceptional Parents Unlimited (EPU) Was Founded To Help Struggling Parents Become Exceptional Parents Of Their Exceptional Children.
The Kiwanis Club of East Fresno and our Foundation have long supported this important organization by building play areas and adopting a family for Christmas.

Scouting
EFK supports both Boy and Girl scouts by through Sequoia Council'sSend a Scout to Camp & Camperships
Central Valley Key Leader
Key Leader by Kiwanis is a weekend leadership program for high school and graduating 8th Grade students. Our mission is to inspire young people to achieve their personal best through service leadership.
The Central Valley Key Leader Camp is held at Camp Oakhurst in beautiful Sierra Nevada's near Yosemite National Park.
EFK Foundation heads up the program which is supported by Kiwanis Clubs throughout the California Central Valley.
Down Syndrome Association of Central California
The mission of Down Syndrome Association of Central California (DSACC) is to enhance the quality of life for all people whose lives are touched by Down syndrome.
East Fresno Kiwanis supports the DSACC through funding for Step up Event, the Annual Gala Fundraising event and our Aktion clubs
Valley Children's Hospital
EFK supports Valley Children's Hospital through the Miracle Run event and the Child Car Seat Safety Program
Student Scholarships
Each year East Fresno Kiwanis Foundation awards scholarships to our Service Leadership Programs (SLP)
Each Scholarship applicant must show how the scholarship will benefit their educational future. One David Fausone scholarship for music will be awarded.
